Canyoning

 

• The Interlaken Canyoning Incident - a report on this by Outside magazine. This covers some of the reasons behind the tragedy. UPDATE Canyoning IS an intrinsically dangerous activity involving inherent risks which are not present in everyday life.

   

• Blue Mountains Canyons - a page put up by David Noble with some great photos and good links.

   

Mountain Biking

 

• The Fat Hippy - Info about rides in the Blue Mountains , and is updated by someone who knows the area. A good place to start if you want to run a mountain biking trip in the Blue Mountains .

   

• Sheldon Brown's Harris Cyclery Page - a huge collection of how information on bikes, how to ride them and how to fix them.

   

• Bike Addiction  - a good Sydney bike shop with some information about trails in the north of Sydney . Also has a few links to the local race scene.

   

• MTB Review - A collection of reviews of mountain bike gear, reviewed by the people who visit the website.

   

• Ground Effect - A New Zealand based cycling clothing manufacturer, with good mail order service. They also have an excellent series of articles on mountain biking for beginners.

   

• Mountain Biking UK - is a great magazine, with a fantastic website. It has some great information on riding techniques, bike maintenance, and new products. It also has some really cool downloadable backgrounds for your computer.

• Australian Crags, Canyons and Caves - Peter Monks' great page with in depth descriptions on climbing areas all around Australia .
