About Us
The club is run entirely by volunteers under the supervision of the Sports Association. We've had trouble getting enough volunteers so as you can see some of us hold several positions.
Here's a little bit about the current exec:
Matthew Perrett: President & SA Rep
Function in the club: Charged with the overall running of the club and coordination of the Executive. Parade around looking and sounding more important than I generally am.
Outdoor pursuits: I do pretty much a bit of everything, but nothing well:) at the moment i'm doing a lot of skiing and rock climbing as well as trying to get more into mountaineering.
Other activities and interests:
I'm current studying advanced mathematics at UNSW (third year). I also dabble in long distance running.

David Cock: Vice-President
Function in the club: Backup to the president, does what needs to be done.
Other activities and interests: I'm a mad-keen climber, I'm also a total Maths, Computer and Electronics nerd. vice(dot)president[at]unswoc(dot)org
Su Li Sin: Secretary
Function in the club: Responsible for looking after the club's membership database, compiling the newsletters and attending exec meetings to record the minutes (as I recall them).
Outdoor activities:
Do lots and lots of walking. Especially love offtrack adventures. Recently discovered the joys of canyoning. (No more sitting around doing nothing in summer!) Climb indoors regularly … plus bits and pieces of everything else.
Other activities and interests: Currently working as an actuarial analyst - the job brought me to Sydney in the first place.

John Rasmussen: Treasurer
Function in club: Organises the money. The most important person in the club.
Outdoor pursuits:
Mainly mountain biking and climbing although I'll try just about anything (if it's not too crazy). The club has introduced me to some things I don't think I ever would have done, such as canyoning.
Other activities and interests:
Currently studying engineering at UNSW. When I'm not studying or working, I try to get outdoors as much as possible. I find the hussle and bustle of the city gets too much sometimes so I have to get out. Like to spend my spare moments on the harbour or reading about modern history.

Ian Donaldson: Activity Officer
Function in the club: Organise and manage trips. The most important person in the club. It's also my job to arrange bookings for the Sports Association Vehicle. Talk to me if you want to see a certain activity happen.
Outdoor Pursuits:
I love the bush and I love the water. So I love all things outdoors. Whilst I try to do everything, there's never enough time, so I focus on bushwalking, caving and whit-water kayaking. I'm also starting to meddle with Rock climbing, though I'm not very good at it yet.
Other activities and interests:
I'm doing a degree in mining engineering but don't let that bias you. My other pastimes include soccer, sailing and boating in general. I love the ocean and sunrises over it.

Blake Bambrook: Gear Guy

Function in the club: Organises the lending (AND RETURN!) of club gear.
Outdoor Activities: Don't mind a bit of everything, mostly rogaining, mountain biking, and bushwalking, although I have started rock climbing, abseiling and canyoning thanks to the club.
Other activities and interests: Currently second year Civil Engineering and Psychology (Hmmm, I know, weird mix but it's fun!), otherwise I am a medium distance runner and road rider at heart.
Steve Hare: Gear Guy
Function in the club: Organises the lending (AND RETURN!) of club gear.
Outdoor Activities: I am interested in most outdoor activities, although I primarily hike, canyon and mtb ride. I have also been known to paddle canoes and kayaks, wander about with snowshoes on and every now and then I poke my head in a cave.
Other activities and interests: Currently 5th year Civil Engineering and Commerce, I hope to finish my degree someday…

Stewart Johnston: Safety Officer Function in the club: Other activities and interests: I was originally more a bushwalker, but I discovered climbing through the club. One day I will climb again outside of the gym! Canyoning is also becoming an obsession when it is warm. I play around occasionally with endurance type sports like rogaines. Kate Chiofalo: Social Officer Function in the club: Makes sure everyone has a mad awesome time. Outdoor activities: I'm heaps into Scuba diving at the moment, but i've also been known to do a bit of rockclimbing, skiing, that sort of thing. Katiegrace_7[at]hotmail(dot)com
