» Club AGM
Posted by Rajan Chhetri on 08.05.2008 00:46

Hi all,

The club AGM is scheduled for 21 May 2008 at 7 PM at the Sam Cracknell Pavillion. The AGM is when we will elect the executive committe for the next year.

If you are interested in contributing to the running of the club directly, do come up to the AGM and nominate yourself or someone else for a exec position. We will give a brief overview of what is expected of each position at the meeting before the election.

For further info contact any of the current exec. Come up to the meeting even if you do not intend to get involved in the exec. You will get to see our democratic process in action!

Cheers,
Rajan

=======================================

Hi all,

We are meeting again on the 6th of May at Sam Cracknell Pavillion. On top of the general goss about who's doing what and where you can go next, we'll have a slide show presentation by one of our club member on his recent mountaineering trip to Nepal.

We will also have a short presentation by two of our club members' recent cycling trip to New Zealand.

So, come on down to chill out for the evening. Our club newsletter should be out by then with other recent trips info and stuff. Don't miss the chance to rub shoulders with the most adventerous crowd in the whole university!

See you all there at 7 PM.

Rajan

Hi all,

The club has elected Su Li, at the general meeting on 11 March, as the new club secretary for the remainder of the current exec's term as the position has been vacant since late February. Su is a strong and active adventurer and has been with the club since last year.

Congratulations Su and welcome to the club exec. We hope to get a lot of input from you regarding club's future direction and hope to see you lead a lot of trips.

» Position open: Club Secretary

Hi all,

Our very efficient club secretary, an active and excellent adventurer and a very good friend of ours, Shelley Bambrook, has resigned from her position as the club's secretary. She is pursuing her dreams and adventures abroad for a year. We thank her for her hard work and wish her all the best!

While Shelley has been excellent support from overseas even after her resignation from her position, we now have the club secretary's position vacant until the end of this executive comittee's term. If you are very organized, have experience with similar work and would like to be more active with the club, we would definitely be happy to hear from you.

We shall have nominations and an election for the position on the first club meeting, on 11 March. However, please send me an email to president[at]unswoc[dot]org if you are interested! Feel free to discuss the position with myself or any club exec's if you want to learn more.

Cheers,
Rajan

Once this is done-down to the real business. Check out all the upcoming adventures in the outdoors!

Hi all,

As always, we will have a O-Week stall to introduce our club to new comers. This year's exec have worked hard to outline a strong membership drive strategy but we need help from volunteers in the club to execute it.
We mainly need people to man the stall for the following days and occasional interesting errands:

Monday : 3rd March 1100-1600 hrs
Tuesday : 4th March 1100-1600 hrs
Wednesday : 5th March 1100-1600 hrs
Thursday : 6th March 1100-1600 hrs
Friday : 7th March 1100-1600 hrs

If you can invest some of your time (even if for an hour), do let me know on

president@unswoc.org
or the club secretary on:
secretary@unswoc.org

We appreciate your company at the O-Week stall so feel free to drop by and say a quick "hi" even if you can't commit any fixed time.

Cheers,
Rajan
